For over a decade, the Inwood Hotels group has flourished in harmony with the talents that shape it. Among them, Aurélie Auvray embodies a remarkable loyalty and an inspiring evolution. From her first steps in human resources to her appointment as CSR Director in January 2025, her journey perfectly illustrates our continuous pursuit of excellence, respect, and innovation.
The Human Element as the Foundation of Hospitality
After beginning her career in accounting, she chose to pursue her true passions: human connection, team development, and a world that has always fascinated her—the hospitality and gastronomy sector.
Aurélie’s story at Inwood Hotels truly began in November 2015. Her mission: to establish the group's HR department, which at the time comprised around one hundred collaborators. Stationed in the lower levels of the Derby Alma, the support teams operated within a creative effervescence reminiscent of a start-up's spirit.
Her philosophy has remained unwavering: to treat our collaborators with the exact same regard as our guests—with respect, empathy, and a deep appreciation for flawlessly executed work.
This close proximity to the operational field allowed her to harmonize the processes across our distinguished houses while impeccably preserving the unique identity of each hotel. Witnessing former interns blossom and rise to the position of hotel managers remains one of her most profound sources of pride today.
Operational Excellence: From Theory to the Guest Experience
Driven by a desire to reconnect with the very core of our profession, Aurélie added a strictly operational dimension to her expertise in 2022. By assuming the roles of Deputy Director of Operations and Operations Manager at the Monna Lisa—an intimate, newly refined jewel of twenty-two rooms—she perfected her vision of hospitality. The guest is placed at the absolute center of every attention, with each piece of feedback becoming invaluable material to further elevate the art of welcoming.
This enriching experience, complemented by her leadership at the Derby Alma, provided her with the ideal laboratory. It was through guiding the teams on a daily basis that she began to gracefully merge the exacting demands of the field with our newly emerging environmental aspirations.
Responsible Elegance: The New Signature of Inwood
In January 2025, Aurélie fully embraced the role of CSR Director, a newly established department she had founded within Inwood a year prior. Her approach remains deeply anchored in operational reality: enlightening our guests without ever diminishing their experience. For her, luxury does not reside in unreasonable abundance, but rather in the precision of the service, the delicate attentions, and the emotion awakened from the moment of arrival until departure.
Under her esteemed guidance, meaningful initiatives have been successfully deployed:
-
Achieving the European Ecolabel for the entirety of our hotel properties in December 2025.
-
The installation of the Levly system beneath our bed bases, a major innovation designed to preserve the physical well-being of our housekeeping teams.
-
The repurposing of 12 tons of materials during the majestic renovation of the Hotel de la Bourdonnais.
-
A profound social and ecological commitment fostered through trusted partnerships with La Tablée des Chefs and the Surfrider Foundation.
Towards the Hospitality of Tomorrow
Today, Aurélie's daily endeavors balance the structuring of our ethical charter with a long-term strategy aimed at reducing our global carbon footprint—from the meticulous selection of renovation materials to the optimization of our procurement.
Empowered by these eleven years of dedication, she is outlining the contours of a hospitality where respect for all stakeholders harmonizes flawlessly with prestige. As she emphasizes with inspiring determination: "The journey is long, but nothing is impossible when one is armed with willpower, pedagogy, and a profound passion for the work."
