“Known under the name of Monsieur Inwood, this mysterious man with refined style has accepted to become our ambassador. It is an opportunity for us to ask him a few questions and make you discover who Monsieur Inwood is.”

CAN YOU TELL US WHO YOU ARE?

Hello. As you certainly know, I do not want to reveal my identity. I introduce myself with the name “Monsieur Inwood”.

I am an only child, my father was a lawyer and my mother a ballet dancer. As a result, I was raised in a milieu which was centered around rigor but also passion. Today, I accomplish myself as an architect and designer. My occupation allows me to use my taste for fabrics but also to develop my creativity. I can also define myself as an esthete. I love beautiful things and all what is refined.

SO YOU ARE AN ARCHITECT AND DESIGNER?

Well, it is true that my occupation characterizes me. I am passionate about art but also architecture, it is really what I like. I mostly work on interior tailor made conceptions ordered by wealthy clients. Thus, I can express my taste for fabrics and cloths.

WHY DO YOU WANT TO KEEP SECRET YOUR IDENTITY?

I am not someone looking for recognition or fame. Everything starts from here. It is true that being an enigmatic person allows the readers to project into my writings. I have to admit that I like when the readers focus only on what I write and not on who I am. I would say that if I accepted to become an ambassador of the group is it not to become famous but in order to be able to share. I am above all a client.

WHY DID YOU CHOOSE INWOOD HOTELS?

It was mostly an opportunity for me. As I told you, I love everything which is related to architecture. And the first time I stayed in a hotel of the brand, the place, the atmosphere, and even the building tempted me! What is more, the Inwood hotels represent the French Arts of Living. I share all these Arts of Living with the group… literature, sculpture, travels… This is why I accepted to become the first ambassador. I am a great admirer of Paris, and I think these hotels are really representative of the city. Be it by representing its culture or by the richness that comes out of them.

WHY DID YOU WANT TO REPRESENT THE INWOOD CLIENTS?

It is not only about representing the clients, it is about sharing with them. What I like is this possibility to gather the clients around common interests and even to be able to talk to them. You know, if I try that hard to make my articles represent the clients, it is mostly to give them advice, to give them the keys for the best stay and finally to share with them my love for Paris. As I told you, I am above all an Inwood client, a particular client, that is certain. Though I remain “the client of the Inwood clients”.

DOES OUR GROUP REPRESENT YOU?

Yes, it completely represents me. As I told you, I am passionate about all forms of Art. I love to stay in the Inwood hotels mostly because thanks to them I feel as if I was hiding away in my passions. And this is really what I appreciate. I would say that the brand represents me in so far as I am what they are. I inherited from the name Monsieur Inwood, because I am a client who never gets bored of Inwood Hotels. There is a reason.

WHY DID YOU ACCEPT TO WRITE ON OUR WEBSITES?

I have to say that this idea was adequate to my philosophy. I love to write in order to share, and to be close to people. It is mainly the idea of being able to share my own experience with the readers that tempted me. It was about the ability to give them my favorite places, to talk about an artist or another. There is also the fact that I can write about topics that are dear to me, express myself, give my opinions. This is what pushed me to write on the Inwood website: the need I feel to share my love for Paris.

WHAT IS YOUR BEST MEMORY IS THE CITY?

Oh, my best memory… It was when I met Elena for the first time. It was during the annual All Nighter in Paris. I was with friends and I remember that I was observing the crowd. It was then that I saw her. I was trying to walk towards her, but the crowd separated us. I remember that I was feeling some sort of internal emptiness and that I was thinking about her. At that moment, I was not present anymore. At the end of the evening, on the Passerelle Debilly, I looked up and I saw her walking towards me. She uttered: “My name is Elena”. The very idea of thinking about it makes me shiver.

WHAT ARE YOUR INSPIRATIONS?

My inspirations are diverse. I love to write about expositions, works of arts, or my favorite accessories! Everything can be a good topic if we really are passionate about it. For me, writing is like a sort of liberation, a means to get out of the routine and immerse myself in something that I really like.

YOU ARE A LITERARY MAN AND YOU APPRECIATE GREAT FRENCH AUTHORS, WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE QUOTE?

Let me think… “We cannot have regrets about the past, no remorse for the present, and an unshakeable trust into the future”. Jean Jaurès.

“Thank you for having taken the time to answer to our questions, we were glad to have you with us. It is a genuine pleasure to read your articles that bring forward Paris and our hotels so well.”
